At 15 metres long, the Yuletide log at Abu Dhabi’s Intercontinental stole the show at this year’s Christmas tree lighting.
Chef Danny Kattar and his pastry team lead by Chef Abdul Razaq Miah created the longest Christmas log in Abu Dhabi, with mammoth portions of ingredients such as 2200 eggs, 25kg of sugar, 30 kg of butter, 12 kg of nuts, 12 kg of mixed dry fruits, 5 liters of egg white, 40 packets of smarties and 12 kg of chocolate.
It is a hotel tradition to wow the guests with their giant Christmas log and this year was no different. General manager, Dieter Franke said: “It is always a delight to see the excitement and joy this brings to the children. This time it was a double delight to see their young bright eyes glitter when they saw the Christmas log. This is a tradition at InterContinental Abu Dhabi that we have been doing for years and years and I am very proud of my team for creating a beautiful atmosphere and exceptional Yuletide log to mark the occasion”.
