As part of the Dubai Shopping Festival, Al Seef Street, close to Burjuman mall has transformed into an outdoor carnival and gastronomic extravaganza.
Music, performances and dancers will be part of the celebrations on the street until 2nd February. And, as part of the initiative, visitors can sample Emirati food.
Umm Rashed’s Corner is catering to the taste buds of several international visitors who are relishing the delectable flavours of traditional Emirati preparations. Umm Rashed will be serving up “Al Bakoura”, which is a famous Emirati entrée loved by many. It includes vegetables, curry leaves, spicy pepper, as well as other seasonings and is served with “Rokak bread”, a traditional cracker. The food stall also offers hot “Karak Chai”, a tea beverage, without which the Emirati culinary experience would be incomplete.
Umm Rashed’s Corner is run by an Emirati family that takes great pleasure in preparing and serving traditional foods and in welcoming visitors to their food stall. Umm Rashed, who has been cooking since she was nine years old, inherited her skills from her grandmother.
* Visit Al Seef Street to taste some of her food every day until February 2nd.
