Oceans is no more, for the once-popular bar and restaurant at Le Royal Meridien Abu Dhabi has been revamped and rebranded.
Recently, it reopened as Imago, a fine dining spot that aims to cater for a somewhat better-off class of clientele. Think caremalised foie gras and lobster thermidore on the menu and you’re right there.
It’s named after the mature, winged state an insect takes after its final metamorphosis. Clearly this is an allusion to radical transformation that the place has undergone.
It remains to be seen, however, whether this has been a change for the better.
