With autumn approaching, the people of China are preparing to consume some moon cakes.
During the annual Mid-Autumn Festival, it’s customary to present the pastries to one’s relatives to symbolise unity within the family.
This year, the celebrations start on September 19. To mark the event, the Royal China Dubai restaurant in DIFC will be offering a chance to sample some of this hospitality with a traditional afternoon tea.
The restaurant is offering an afternoon tea menu, which includes dumplings, desserts, and of course, some moon cake.
These cakes are made from a special pastry filled with a rich mixture of red bean, lotus seed paste, or sometimes with yolks from duck eggs.
