For many, many people living in Abu Dhabi, Le Beaujolais (in the Mercure Hotel on Hamdan Street, often still referred to as Novotel) is their happy place. I know I would much rather spend an hour or two eating this restaurant’s always impeccably cooked steak, off those cute little red-checked tableclothes, and with fantastic service, than shell out many, many more dirhams for a meal that will quite likely in comparison.
But a recent addition to their menu gave me pause (and a giggle, particularly the dramatic use of red and green). You have to appreciate any business that attempts to educate the public about sustainable fish choices. But it leaves me wondering – who sees this and then orders the hammour?
